Freelance musician; jazz bassist January 1984 – Present, Florida and New York City
I am fortunate to have performed professional concerts or other gigs with many notable musicians and a number of truly legendary jazz artists. Notable work includes performances with: Lou Donaldson, Richie Cole, Kenny Wheeler, Lionel Loueke, Raul Midon, David Liebman, Tim Hagans, Nigel Kennedy, Allan Harris, Marcus and E.J. Strickland, Mike and Robert Rodriguez, The Woody Herman Orchestra, and many others.
My most personably memorable and rewarding gig was a three-year engagement with soul-jazz organ-legend and NEA Jazz Master, Dr. Lonnie Smith; as a member of his house band at the Ft. Lauderdale jazz club, O'Haras. Additionally, I was a featured soloist and jazz bassist for the New World Symphony and the Palm Beach Pops, including concerts with Mel Tormé, Lena Horn and Yolanda Adams.
Venues and festivals where I've been fortunate to perform include: Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, The Montreux Jazz Festival, Avery Fisher Hall, The Town Hall, and CBGB.
