Program Officer; Chamber Music America August 2004 – August 2007, New York, NY
In this position, I directed the largest suite of grant programs for jazz ensembles, composers, and presenters in the United States; funded entirely by, and working directly with, The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. Specific duties included: writing of grant guidelines, advertising and leading seminars on available grant programs.
I also managed all aspects of grant review, including:prescreening all applications for eligibility and panel review, hiring and overseeing renowned musician grant panelists, calculating evaluation results, notifying awardees, releasing monetary awards when grant projects were completed. I coordinated the “First Thursday’s” series of professional development workshops for professional musician members.
Additionally, I co-designed the French-American Jazz Exchange program in collaboration with the French Consulate.
